Well ladies I think I have the answer...
They say there is a shortage of single, straight, emotionally available men in Perth. And believe me when I say there is. I have been single for a few years now, not to say that I haven't dated but nothing has resulted in a serious long term relationship and as each year progresses there are less and less men to choose from. Apparently there is 1 man for every 3 women in Perth. Yes you heard me correct! 1 man to every 3 women (just saying it again as it's a pretty scary ratio)! And now I know why... All the men are in Melbourne!
I flew out to Melbourne after my 4th and final Sick of Single Date last week and things got interesting right from the moment I got of that plane. My first night in Melbourne resulted in not 1, not 2, but 3 phone numbers exchanged and a night full of compliments, free drinks and lots of interesting proposals...
As I hopped out of the taxi and withdrew some cash out of the ATM I heard this voice say "Nice trench." I didn't pay any attention to it as they usually are not talking to me, but then my girlfriend tapped me on the shoulder and says to me "I think they're talking to you." I turned around and I found a car full of men staring and again this guy says "I really love your trench, it's really hot!" Wow, my first compliment for the evening... and the weekend had only just begun.
We went to this little funky bar (Electric Lady Lounge) and my jaw just dropped. There was a plethora of men and yes they were single. Well most of them anyway. I could not believe my eyes, it was like I had died and gone to eye candy heaven.
I actually did meet a very nice guy that I would have liked to see again, he was just lovely. He is gorgeous, smart, stylish, funny and so much fun to be around. But I live here in Perth and he lives in Melbourne so I guess this sentence finishes here.
Ok, now I know what you are all thinking, 'What about Ben from Date no 2?' Well I'm still planning on catching up with him again, don't worry about that, but that shouldn't stop a girl from having a little bit of fun? Ever heard of the post code rule? (Ok bad joke.) Seriously though, one date doesn't mean I am committed for life. I was just having a look at the local talent, and hey a little bit of flirting never hurt anyone.
I do have a second date with Ben planned later this week so stayed tuned and I'll keep you updated as to how it goes... And I'm sure if it is anything like our first date, there will be plenty to tell.

What are the women like over there Dan? I'm sick of the stuck up, bleach blonde Paris Hilton wannabes over here.

Hey there Dan,
Well I have to agree with you there to a point that there is a small shortage of single, straight, emotionally available men in Perth. I have been single for a little while now, I come form the other side of the fence as I am male and find it hard to find girls that are single.
And I would have to also agree that I would have to join the club and have dated, but from a single guys point I find it more that girls don't take a chance if things go well or see where tings lead from the 2nd, 3rd date! But in saying that going back to your comment about guys in Perth, with me included I know of a few guys that are single, straight, and emotionally available and live in Perth. And yes you would be right on that as each year progresses there are less and less men to choose from. There is 1 man for every 3 women in Perth. Also I don't agree with the Melbourne comment "All the men are in Melbourne!"

Stacey please tell us other single girls where to find all these single men you're referring to! I've been single for a while now and it does seem to be hard to find mature, intelligent, available men in Perth!

3 girls to 1 guy in Perth? You must be kidding. Half of the places in Perth I've been to lately are more like a footy change room. So where can all the single, available girls/ladies be found in Perth? -

Why doesnt someone organise a big outing for the singles of perth/Melb????? post it around everywhere on dating sites, pretty much eveverwhere and then you all go to one place, either a nice pub or a club.... whereever, you have to be wanting someone and to be bothered to actually find someone.
