Dan And Her City - The One Night Stand Dan 18 September, 2008 - 1:26 PM

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago the conception of a one night stand was unthinkable! How dare one have sexual relations with another for only one night? Then came the dreaded perceived idea that only men could handle a one night stand.  Ever heard the expression 'to chew one's arm off?'  And if a woman ever had a one night stand she would be labeled a slut, while the man was a legend.

Well boys, times are a changing even if you don't realise it. Today more and more women are feeling liberated and are confident enough to express their needs and fulfill their desires, yes that includes sexual desires. Obviously not every woman out there feels this way but I'm sure I speak for many when I say that we are no longer the Husband chasing, co-dependant women like our past generations. I know from personal experience that I don't have to be in 'love' to enjoy sexual relations.  I'm not promiscuous by any means, but men be prepared… The next one night stand you endure, you may not be the one bolting out the door in the middle of the night leaving a note saying  "I'll call you!"

  I'm more than happy for her to slip off in to the night/morning and theres no need for her to leave her number. After all its a one night stand. She could make breakfast on her way out though

  Why bother in the frist place if its only a fling. it would mean more if you liked the person for who they are and not for how hot they are?

  One night stands aren't all bad. What was supposed to be a one night stand with a guy turned long term, now we're getting married in 6 weeks time. I was just out for some fun and found the man of my dreams.

  its not a big deal about the lezo wedding gt over it they love each other thats all that counts jst leave them alone and let them do what they love to do. I dont know why people are over reacting i dont think its good but you cant make some one change what they ant to do

  This is not a new era. Women universally signed off back in the 90's that one night stands were allowable. What planet do you live on if you're a woman in this day and age who hasn't figured it out yet?

  A word of advice... get off your couch, stop watching your SATC DVD's and 'live a little' in the real world for a while. Maybe then you'll realise you need to update your material.

  SNTC - you must be the only one out there who feels this way. Dan has been abused about not being in a relationship at the age of 30 and now that she has writen this blog, all of a sudden she doesn't have to be in a relationship?

  Finally a woman who tells it as it is. Its just a bit fun and a one of the most natural, healthy things we can do. Maybe if we were doing this more there would be a lot less alcohol and drug abuse and violence.

  By the way, I am nearly 30 and single and loving it. I could very easily be in a relationship but I'm having way to much fun.
