Skydiver’s Parachute Opens Too Early
Skydiving And Helicopters Don't Mix!
Take a minute to think how you would feel if you were about to skydive out of a helicopter. Now take that feeling and add on the fact that your parachute has gotten tangled on the helicopters landing skids. Then think about how you'd react.
That's what happened to this young skydiver from Llandrindod Wells in Wales.
James Dobb went up for a routine thrill seeking skydive with friends and as he was about to exit the aircraft, his chute opened prematurely and tangled. Frantically he managed to cut it loose and made the jump with his spare parachute.
But it doesn't end there - the people remaining in the helicopter yet to jump have their own problem - how are they going to get this loose chute back into the helicopter without it getting caught in the blades.
