Runway Report: VAMFF 2014
What's in, what's out and how on EARTH do you pull off a winged eye? All the answers are at Melbourne Fashion Festival!
As some of Melbourne’s top bloggers and fashion aficionados milled around the dramatic set of Runway 4 as part of the Virgin Australia Fashion Festival, they all had one thing in mind…what will we all be wearing next season?
The answer came from designers like Camilla and Marc, Bianca Spender and Ginger and Smart as their statuesque models strutted their latest creations down the catwalk to the heavy beats of the soundtrack.
If you’re wondering what you’ll see in stores next season, it’s all about structure.
Garments designed to create a silhouette or shape that may not even exist.
From accentuated shoulders to cut out sections in thick structured jackets…but don’t stress, we’re not seeing a Golden Girls-esque return of the shoulder pad…it’s just a touch more fabric than needed in areas, supported with strong stitching, giving you that extra push…
Colour wise – next season, we’re not being daring.
Muted blues, reds and every shade of grey and black is what you’ll see fashionistas wearing. Take note, ombre is not just for your hair but is also for your heavy knitted sweaters.
Those lucky devotees who made it to the line up for the L’Oreal Fashion Tent – all walked away with not only a makeover, but also a nice, heavy goodie bag.
The look for makeup this season? The wing-tipped eye. The trick to get it perfect? Use STICKY TAPE to give you that flawless line…
