Adam Savage From MythBusters Reflects On Working With Robin Williams
Adam Savage has fronted MythBusters since the early 2000s, but it was his previous job that led him to forging some great memories working with the late Robin Williams.
Adam spoke to 2Day FM Breakfast from Melbourne today about working as a special effects designer before he began busting all those myths.
He worked on many films including two Williams favourites, Flubber and Bicentennial Man. We even saw Weebo - the flying, talking robot from Flubber - in the memorabilia collection case in a recent tour of his man-cave.
Reflecting on his time with Williams, the myth buster told Jules, Merrick and Sophie “Generosity is absolutely the thing that sticks out the most.”
“On Bicentennial Man, you’d see him every day… you’d be sitting there having a bagel in the morning and he might start riffing on some piece of news that was in the paper that morning,” he said.
“It was you and two other friends of yours and Robin, having this private, incredible conversation that was the funniest thing you’d ever seen.”
“That typified every interaction with him on all the films that we worked on,” he added.
Adam also spoke about how difficult it was to break up the conversation with Williams when he had to get back to work.
Listen to what he had to say about it in the full interview and check out his man-cave tour below.
