Benjamin’s BB Diary Week 5: It Gets Real!
With Heidi Out Of The House, Is Anyone Safe?
Heidi & Ben Hobnob Post-Eviction!
This week, I was shocked to see Heidi out of the game.
She was the House's alpha female! Roles like that are hard to claim. I always thought if you played a vital role in the house then your place was secure. I WAS WRONG.
What is happening this season?! It’s very different to any other Big Brother; with so many housemates up for eviction, flying under the radar is no longer a tactic you should even consider....
You can be a best friend, someone's mum, the alpha male and even do everyone's dishes - it means nothing unless you polarise the audience! They need to debate your motives and question morals. If you ain't half bonkers or string the pot, pack your fluro suitcase and stand at the door!
Heidi seemed pretty clued in, so I looked forward to the chat. I thought we had some similarities and I couldn't wait to hear her insights on the show. I was blown away that the HMs have no idea about Drew and Tully's relationship.
As far as Heidi was concerned, it was just a really close friendship. She had no idea about the kissing, no idea of dancing doonas and certainly no idea that Tully's girlfriend would have left in a cloud of smoke weeks ago.
We also got to see Tim lose his mind for the first time this week. He destroyed what he saw as his biggest challenge - Heidi! I am sure in real life Tim would have swooned for Heidi and begged for friendship. Yet, his keen eye for detail and his ability to read people were rocked for the first time. He liked her so much that I believe he was blinded. I can't wait to watch Tim evolve as he gets deeper into his mess. It's about to get very real for a man who hasn't seen many consequences!
I am excited for this week, because Big Brother's time slots have been changed for the better with Evictions on Monday and Nominations on Wednesday. I think it has been the smartest move yet. A 90-minute Monday episode will showcase exactly what we missed on the weekend. It's more Big Brother than ever before.
Finally, Big Brother was never going to be a holiday house for the HMs. It may seem like an extended vacation from your normal life, but in actual fact it is simply a holiday from your sanity. I must admit whilst Big Brother himself gears up for the biggest mind game of the season, I wonder how I would cope?
There is nothing that gets the best from HMs like keeping them guessing! What they know is that there is a double eviction. What we know, is that one will be evicted and one will be super saved. Saved into one of the most privileged environments ever offered to a HM.
Bring it on.
