Taylor Swift Talks Relationship Deal Breakers
If there's one person who knows a thing or two about high profile relationships it's definitely Taylor Swift. The singer may have dated some of Holllywood's hunkiest men, ie. Jake Gyllenhaal, Harry Styles and John Mayer, however Taylor recently told Glamour U.K. that she's "never had a perfect fit with someone."
Despite being publicly scrutinised for dating many men, Swift reassured us that she's not the boy obsessed player the papers like to paint her as.
Swift explained, "Well the way it works, as I've learned recently is if you reach a point in your career where things are going very well, public perception needs a 'Yeah, but'. Like, 'Yeah, but she's been on a lotta dates apparently.' 'Yeah, but I hear she's crazy.' I think you'll find it has a lot to do with being a woman. And I resent that."
"That there has to be some downside to your personality or lifestyle if you're a woman and successful. But I'm not gonna say to my guy friends, 'No, I can't go to lunch because people will say we're dating.' I just reject the idea I have to change the way I live my life."
It seems the blonde beauty has more than just a pretty face! The '22' singer also let us in on how she doesn't let all the talk about her get to her head.
"You can be obsessed with the bad things people say and the good things, either way you're obsessed with yourself and I'm not—you can become unhinged so easily. Vanity can apply to both insecurity and egotism. So I distance myself, because I feel everything. The little I am exposed to hurts my feelings. The only things I can really control are my songs and my behaviour. The rest? If I focused on it, that would lead to insanity."
The 23-year-old also spilled her thoughts on relationship deal breakers saying, "Here's what I've learned about deal-breakers. If you have enough natural chemistry with someone, you overlook every single thing that you said would break the deal."
When asked if she would date another Hollywood personality she replied, "You can't say, 'I'm never gonna date a high-profile person in the arts!' But whoever I date, famous or not—whether I ever date again!— - all chaos will break loose. With fabrication and frantic obsession and who likes who more and how it ended. But right now is easy because I'm single and happy, and it's very relaxing.
