You Won't Believe How Bloody Stressful Christmas Shopping Is For Your Body
With only 5 WEEKS to go until Christmas, no doubt there's a lot of you stressing the hell out about getting prezzies for family and friends.
But new research has found festive shopping may be even more chaotic than we realise.
Online shopping giant Ebay took 100 participants out for a 60-minute shop to study their physiological responses to shopping, equipping them with movement and heart rate monitors.
The results showed that the average person's heart rate increased by 33 per cent during the shopping experience, that's the equivalent of running a marathon.
60 per cent of shoppers hit 'festive fatigue' after just 32 minutes, while 88 per cent experienced tachycardia - a heart rhythm disorder where the heart beats faster than normal while at rest.
So, what's the best way to combat Christmas shopping stress?
The study recommends trying 'High Intensity Interval Shopping' where you opt for short bursts of intense shopping rather than trying to get a god awful stack done in just one day.
Or .. just go online. Put some tunes on, have a sneaky wine and click away. Sounds pretty good to me!
