Movie World Will Run As Normal Today After Green Lantern Ride Drama
Movie World bosses have promised the park will be running as normal on Monday, after Sunday's drama involving The Green Lantern.
A computer glitch is being blamed for the roller coaster shutting down for at least 30 minutes, briefly trapping four people in one of the carriages, at the highest point of the ride.
Just days ago, the theme park's 16 attractions passed a state government safety audit, triggered by a fatal accident at Dreamworld last month.
"The ride's safety systems were engaged following a computer fault," a park spokesman said in a statement.
"These safety systems are designed to bring the ride to a safe stop in a dedicated evacuation zone."
"The safety and well being of all of our guests is our top priority."
The same ride malfunctioned in March 2015 when a wheel component became loose and stranded 13 people, some for as long as three-and-a-half hours.
