Review: Michael Jackson's "This Is It" Posted by Music 29 October, 2009 - 3:13 PM
Michael Jackson's This Is It depicts a side of The King of Pop that we have never seen before.
Cameras go behind the scenes of what was going to be Jackson's final hurrah - the This Is It concerts. Everything from auditions, rehearsals, and intimate moments offstage have been laid bare for all to see.
With the help of Kenny Ortega, the tour's creative director, we get to see what could have been.
The documentary is structured around some of Jackson's major songs, from Wanna Be Startin' Somethin', Smooth Criminal (complete with guest appearance from silverscreen legend Humphrey Bogart) to Earth Song. Viewers are shown glimpses of how the performance of the songs would have played out - from choreography, staging, to audio and visual production.
There is no doubt that many would be curious to find out how Jackson carries himself in front of the fly-on-the-wall cameras. We can say with confidence that Jackson was gentle, a perfectionist, and of course passionate about his music.
Sceptics may say that Jackson would have struggled to complete the tour. Fans would say otherwise.
The years have taken their toll on his body but you can still see the superstar - his voice and his movements leave many of today's stars to shame.
Stay in your seats for a special 3D graveyard clip for Thriller, a giant mechanical spider, more stunning video sequences and the next generation of Aussie stars (guitarist Orianthi and dancer Shannon Holtzapffel).
This Is It. Don't miss it.

Awesome show! Can only imagine what the show would have been like if he was on tour.
I can truly say that he deserved the title of "King Of Pop" He was a master at his music and was involved in everything.
To watch him on stage, not only is he charismatic but you cannot look away for one moment because you are afraid of missing something spectacular.
A truly wonderful movie. I would recommend anyone to watch it. If your not a MJ fan you will leave as ONE.

One word to describe this movie "MAGNIFICENT".
This really show MJ as wonderful, kind person that the public rarely see. He truly is an inspiration and will be missed over. It's a shame that future generations will never experience his talent, but his music will live on forever.
I saw his 1996 HIStory concert and would definitely have gone to see This Is It!
We Love you MJ.
God bless
