Chris Brown Pleads Guilty To Rihanna Assault Posted by Music 23 June, 2009 - 7:08 AM
Chris Brown has escaped jail time after pleading guilty to one count of felony assault on his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
A plea deal was struck between Brown, his lawyers and prosecutors moments before he faced court:
- Five years supervised probation
- Six months community labour (Brown can complete his community service in his home stage of Virginia but must go to California every three months)
- Brown must keep at least 50 yards (45 metres) apart from Rihanna for the next five years. At music industry events the requirement is reduced to 10 yards (9 metres). This also applies to Rihanna

The reported assault took place back in February 8, 2009 when the pair fought in Brown's car. Charges were then laid in March.
Chris Brown will be formally sentenced on August 5.
What do you think? Did Chris Brown get off too lightly? Is it over between him and Rihanna?

It's wonderful this is finally over for Rihanna. But PROBATION? What a joke, this is just telling men they can do what they want and get away with it. Chris Brown makes me sick and I hope to God his career suffers for it! He deserves nothing less.

Probation is a chop out. He will learn nothing from it & will most likely do it again. He could of killed her, so he should of went to jail. No matter happened to set him off Rihanna didnt deserve that no one does. Now others (not just men) will do it and think they can get away with it as well.

Kyle, Jackie O, I'd just like to say that the 18 year old tosser "Josh" who phoned into the show this morning and said that Rihanna deserved what she got from Chris Brown, was appalling.
There is no excuse for violence, whether it be aimed at a Female or a Male. I'm sure "Josh" wouldn't have felt the same if he'd been a victim.

Wow, and here was I thinking the justice system in America was a lot tougher than other countries, just goes to show how wrong you can be.
I hope Chris Brown learns something, though it's doubtful.

I think they shouldve have chucked him in and thrown away the key. What a disgrace he is. And rhianna is just as dumb for putting up with his behavior. She didn't deserve it, but why take him back? He's definitely not that good.
