Chocolate & Chestnut Self Saucing Pudding Posted by Kate Flower 16 June, 2009 - 9:38 AM

Curves for Cam

So I was reading on the Daily Dirt that the eternally skinny Cameron Diaz would like a few curves on that lithe figure. To quote, "I'd love a bigger butt, more meat on my bones. I'd love to be more voluptuous. It's just not my body type."

I would like to help Cam! I hate to think of you being unhappy with your lot. Here is a recipe that is guaranteed to add a little love to your handles. Simply eat this Self Saucing Chocolate and Chestnut Pudding for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 21 days and don't forget to supplement healthy snacks with high fat thick shakes in between.

Get back to me Cam because I can't wait to see your new look. Consider it a challenge for your stylist.

Love Kate

For the rest of you, enjoying this winter pud once in a while will enhance your life but shouldn't do too much damage to the waistline.

Chocolate and Chestnut Self Saucing Pudding (serves 4)

Pudding - Ingredients
125g plain flour
Pinch salt
60g castor sugar
2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp Dutch cocoa
100g chestnut puree crumbled
½ cup milk
40g butter melted
1tsp pure vanilla

Topping
1 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp Dutch cocoa
1 cup boiling water

Method
Preheat oven to 180C. Butter a 750ml pie dish or 4 small dishes. Sift flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Add caster sugar and crumbled chestnut puree. Use a whisk to combine dry ingredients. Combine milk, vanilla, melted butter and the egg in a bowl and mix with a fork. Add the wet mix to the dry ingredients and whisk until well combined. Pour into chosen dish/dishes. To make the topping combine the sugar and cocoa in a bowl and mix before sprinkling it evenly over the top of the pudding. Pour the cup of boiling water gently over the sugar and cocoa then place the pudding in the oven. Bake for 40-45 minutes for a large pudding or 15-20 minutes for individual ones. The pudding should puff in the centre and feel firm when pressed lightly with your fingertips. Serve with double cream.

Where can you buy chestnut puree? Is it available in Coles?

and when you say pure vanilla, is that vanilla pod?

thanks, this looks great and I want to try it.

    Hey Susie

Chestnut puree is available from good deli's and gourmet food stores.

Pure vanilla is the concentrated vanilla extract. Just a tad more expensive than sandard vanilla which you can still use if it's in the cupboard.
