Mike Goldman Hits Out At Copycat Reality Shows Michelle 18 July, 2008 - 3:55 PM

Mike Goldman has hit out at other reality TV shows and accused them of stealing the BB concept. He has slammed other shows such as The Biggest Loser, Australia's Next Top Model and even Australian Idol for copy cat acts.

"We're the biggest show of it's kind and now every other show has ripped us off" Goldman has said.

"You see .. Next Top Model they live in a house, they film them 24 hours a day. Idol or Biggest Loser, oh wow they live in a house, they live together."

Goldman also responded to other media attacking BB over the years with the controversial incidents.

"The past 8 years we've got everyone from websites, Today Tonight, A Current Affair just chipping away at the BB machine and slagging us off and saying things that weren't completely true ... it's sad that there are so many vicious people out there that haven't even watched the show, that just love to rip it to shreds!"

"I'm really proud of everything we have done." Goldman said.

Never thought about it like that, but I agree with Mike. Also, don't forget the Howard conservative government sticking their nose into the turkeyslap incident which was not even show on tv, but was on the internet Then they tightened the laws about what can be shown on free to air. I hope another tv show takes it up, and maybe have the raunchier going-ons on pay tv. I really enjoyed 2008 BB, I thought the producers were very clever, but some people like the raunchier bits and that is where some of the audience is lost, maybe. Compared to BB's audience figures overseas compared to population, I think the ratings were pretty good. Who can believe them anyway?
