7:35pm Is it just us or did Joel Madden have a hint of an Aussie accent when he was talking in the opening sequence?!
7:40pm The judges choose "Sing" by My Chemical Romance as their opening song together. Great to see Delta rocking out! Joel says he wants an Aussie passport. He's not lying - he's been looking at houses in Oz!
7:44pm Fatai V from Team Seal is up first, singing 'Empire State of Mind'. She says it's going to be a struggle but doesn't seem to have any problems smashing it out of the ball park. The judges all give glowing feedback.

7:55pm - Team Delta's Matt Hetherington next up to bat. 'White Noise' by The Living End. Delta seen awkwardly "rocking out" while watching the gig. Everyone gives positive feedback. Again. *yawn*

The Voice coach Joel Madden is looking to move to Australia with his wife and kids. Nicole Richie is currently visiting Joel in Sydney.
"We are looking at schools and we are talking about maybe leasing a place for the next year,” Joel said.
With the success of The Voice, it looks like Joel might be spending a fair bit of time here. The series, which has been getting well over 2 million viewers per night, has already been renewed for next year.
Joel says living in Australia feels more free than the US, where his fame can be overwhelming.

"The kids, those are the only ones that I'm really protective of. One place that actually respects that in the world is Australia, which I love.”
"I'm loving it because usually I don't have the kids here," Madden said. "I love the light. I love the space. I love that, unlike LA, if you want to find good food and space, you don't have to drive to it. Life is easy living here."

Joel and Nicole have been spotted at Bondi Icebergs for an exclusive party on Thursday, and watching the Waratahs play the Bulls at Allianz Stadium on Friday night.

Nicole Richie sneakily landed in Sydney on Wednesday night, greeted with open arms by husband and The Voice judge, Joel Madden.
Nicole decided to leave the kids back in the USA, even with Mothers day this Sunday. The impromptu visit has sparked rumors that the couple may be house hunting in Sydney over the weekend.
Both Nicole and Joel have openly talked about how much they love spending time in Australia, even Nicole's Father Lionel Richie has expressed his thoughts on the matter:
"Every time I talk to (Joel) he can't stop raving about how great it is in Australia."
"I love the place too, but I don't want them to move there. I keep reminding them how far it is for granddad to travel to see the grandkids."

7:56pm - Joel picks Carmen. Highly controversial! I think it was the hair that got her over the line.
8:02pm - Kieran gets told to drop the karaoke style. Will he drop the tracky pants as well?
8:06pm - Kieran has fist pumped his way through that one. With perhaps a little too much fist pumping. Very strong performance from both Sam and Kieran.

Benji and Joel Madden refused to go on Melbourne's Matt & Jo Show since they stormed out of an interview live on air in 2009. The boys were offended after being shown a photo of Britney Spears getting out of a car with no pants on in a game the Fox FM team played with the twins.

Talking on the Fifi & Jules show Joel Madden gave us a little insight in to how he managed to get wife Nicole to marry him.
Joking that he was used to rejection and will have plenty in common with the contestants on The Voice. The Good Charlotte front man admitted to asking wife Nicole to marry him at least ten times before she said yes. When ask by Jules what finally got her over the line, Joel jokingly admitted to using their kids as a bit of emotional blackmail.
